Federal: Transco seeks approval for Luzerne County gas pipeline loop; party deadline October 13

Transco asked federal regulators on September 4 to approve a $54.7 million, 3.38-mile pipeline loop and compressor work in northeastern Pennsylvania; scoping comments are due November 2.

Landowners, townships and developers along the Leidy Line in Luzerne County have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on October 13, 2026 to become formal parties to a proposed interstate gas pipeline expansion, the step that preserves a later right to seek court review. On September 24, 2026, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”), which approves interstate natural gas pipelines, published notice of Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC's (“Transco”) application for the Leidy Access Expansion Project, Docket No. CP26-576-000, 91 Fed. Reg. 60,613 (Sept. 24, 2026), filed on September 4, 2026 under section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act, 15 U.S.C. § 717f(c).
