New Jersey Meadowlands authority sets October 20 hearing on changes to Kearny redevelopment zoning

The Sports and Exposition Authority will take comment on October 20, 2026 on amendments to the Kearny Area Redevelopment Plan, which governs about 445 acres of industrial, retail and landfill land. The draft does not mark what is new. The written comment deadline was not readable.

The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority ("NJSEA") has noticed a public hearing for 10:00 a.m. on October 20, 2026 in the Board Meeting Room at One DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst, to obtain comments on amendments to the Kearny Area Redevelopment Plan, file number SP-834. The notice and a draft of the plan are posted on the NJSEA's public notices page, which dates the posting October 2, 2026. The plan was adopted on May 24, 2000 and has been amended on March 27, 2002, July 14, 2004, September 28, 2011, June 25, 2014 and April 25, 2024; the posted draft marks the new amendment as adopted by a resolution whose number and date are still blank ("Resolution 26-XX"), so it is a proposal and is not in force.
