DEEP and its New England partners announced 102.4 MW of solar selections on September 24, 2026, of which 63.4 MW are Connecticut's, all outside Connecticut, with delivery required by the end of 2032. Nuclear proposals are still under review. Written comments on the next Comprehensive Energy Strategy are due October 16, 2026.
On September 24, 2026, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection ("DEEP") announced that Connecticut and its New England partners had selected 102.4 megawatts of new solar generation through a coordinated procurement, of which 63.4 megawatts are Connecticut's. The selections follow a zero carbon request for proposals announced January 30, 2026, which noted that Public Act 24-38 requires that costs of any new Connecticut nuclear procurement be shared by at least two other states. Separately, on September 17, 2026, DEEP opened a request for written comments on the next Comprehensive Energy Strategy under Conn. Gen. Stat. § 16a-3d, with comments due by 4:00 p.m. on October 16, 2026.
